New Japanese DLC The Japanese DLC items are a couch that looks like the new Nintendo DSi, (to commemorate its release tomorrow, April 5th), and a schoolboy uniform (a hat). We may post pics soon. If you know someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, etc. who lives in Japan, you may be lucky enough to catalog these items. Or maybe you're lucky enough to be in Japan! Or you could go to a forum. Whatever. Just get these items; they are really cool! The couch is "catalogable" and can be ordered for 18,900b. Rumor has it that the US may be getting a blue DSi couch (the Japanese version is white). Australia is getting the Dsi couch from Apr. 3 - Apr. 10. There may also be a chair coming soon after. Here are the official Nintendo AC downloadable content sites:
You must have wiiconnect24 enabled during a certain time period to get the item. For example, the delivery period for the red pikmin hat was Mar. 25 - Apr. 1.
EDIT: The US version is a black DSi couch called "Nintendo DSi B." It became available for most people on April 5.
E-mail us at webmaster@animalcrossingpost to let us know when you got it if you are in another country!
Site News A few changes are coming to The Animal Crossing Post this week. First, while we have been very happy with our free host, which has given us many features with no ads *shock and awe,* with our new forums running, we have outgrown our host. Now we are moving to paid hosting, and hopefully the move will be complete this weekend. This shouldn't change much, except the "mySQL" errors should be gone from the forum! Second, we are going to phase out the Google group for the friend codes. We have a section on the forum for friend code-exchanging, and we would rather it all be in the same place. We will keep the old group around for a little while so the current exchanges can be finished up. Third, in order to prevent spam on our new forums, we have required everyone's first post to be moderated. This weeds out automatic spammers. Fourth, that little comment box on the post about wisp isn't going to work because it it doesn't really fit. Hopefully in the distant future we will manage to create a new comment method on these posts.
The NEW RE-DESIGNED ACP-Forums Are Running!!!
It's the grand opening of the newly re-designed ACP-Forums! We are very excited
to open the new version of The Animal Crossing Post | Forums which from now on
will be called ACP-Forums. The new ACP-Forums is packed full of NEW features we
hope everyone will enjoy! We will even be recruiting a staff (unpaid of course :P)
which will help maintain the ACP-Forums and make it better than ever. Now is the
time to join because we have all sorts of things in store! Plus registering is easy!
If you were a member of the old forums you can still visit them here, to get your information and copy and paste posts that you want to transfer.
Please do not create any new accounts here. Use the new, BETTER, forums (link above)
St. Patrick's Day DLC Item Released (Shamrock Hat)
Either from March 17th until March 30th or from March 17 until March 24th (I have heard both rumors) you can
receive the Shamrock Hat from Nintendo. All you have to do is start you game.
Pete, the mail man, will be waiting to notify you that you have mail from Nintendo! Check your mail, and in it you will find the newly
released DLC item, a Shamrock Hat.
*EDIT MARCH 26th*
This item is available in North America, Europe and Australia.
Thanks for this info Harlan and MissyDee!
Important Wisp Information! Wisp CAN be found in the early evening. In both our town and our friend's town tonight, Wisp appeared at about 8:50 PM. Additionally, this suggests that Wisp may appear in all City Folk towns at the same time. Did you see Wisp around 8:00 or 9:00 PM on March 6th? Let us know!!! Also, if you find Wisp before going on Wi-Fi, then have friends over, you can rub the lamp in your attic while friends are over. Beware, however, that the game may lock up if you do this!!! You may still WiiSpeak and see the typed messages of others, but it will be necessary to power off the Wii. You cannot end the party.
Some Quick Announcements
COMMERCIAL: The Animal Crossing Post is on YouTube! We are happy to announce
that we have released our very first YouTube video commercial.
(Watch)
CORRECTED: tools page, golden can/perfect town section. Having a fountain has
no effect upon achievement of perfect town
ratings. We apologize for the mistake.
FORUMS: We are currently trying to improve our forums. The new and improved forums
will be up soon. Unfortunately, all current users will have to re-register on
the new forum. We will send a reminder e-mail with a link to the new one soon.
CALENDAR: We are a little late on the calendar this month--a bit of
procrastination has been involved...
Research Opportunity: Frillard Occasionally, we will be asking our site visitors to help us research information for The Animal Crossing Post. This time, we are wondering about Frillard. We have never seen him in our town, so we would like to hear from those of you who have. According to the guide, Frillard is a special character who will sometimes appear in place of Dr. Shrunk at the Marquee (theater in the city) and teach rare emotions. We want to know:
+Does Frillard stay for a day--or more?
+How did you know he was there?
+What does the ticket salesperson say to you when he is there?
+Do his emotions cost more than the usual 800 bells?
+Do your villagers talk about him? Did that let you know he was there?
+Do the animals in the city talk about him?
+When did he come? What day, month, time? What was the weather like?
+Do you think that time-traveling affects this? What else may affect it?
If you have seen Frillard, we would appreciate your help. E-mail us (see link
below)!
Tell us your character name and town name, and we'll give you credit in our article.

Update: Nintendo WFC Issues Resolved Below
is a copy of the e-mail we have received from Nintendo regarding this
problem.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Hello, Thanks for contacting us about the errors you received while using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. While our servers are designed to handle the traffic, several unexpected technical issues occurred that caused a disruption to portions of the Wi-Fi Connection service. On behalf of Nintendo, I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We have just received confirmation from our website technicians that the problems you experienced have been fixed. If you continue to receive errors when attempting to connect online, please contact our Consumer Service Department at 1-800-255-3700 for further assistance. Our representatives are available between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, seven days a week.
We appreciate your patience. Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Chelsea MacAran
Nintendo of America Inc.
Trouble Connecting Since Christmas? We have been experiencing difficulty in connecting to Nintendo WFC to visit friends' towns. We can open our gate, but nobody comes, and we cannot visit other towns. The error code that we have been getting means that the WiFi is busy. We think that it is due to the popularity of the game since so many people have gotten it for Christmas. We have heard of other people having a hard time connecting as well.
We e-mailed Nintendo about this asking for some tidbit of information about when this will be resolved. We got an automated response that due to unprecedented popularity of the Wii it may be several days before a response is received. We will keep you posted.
Jingle Article Updated! The Jingle Article has been updated just in time for Christmas Eve! It explains how to find Jingle and how to get multiple items from him.
Lets Go to the Glitch? It seems that right now might not be the ideal time for people in Australia to buy Animal Crossing: Lets go to the City, due to a glitch. Current owners of "Let's go to the City" for the Nintendo Wii and are unable to transfer data from Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS) to the Wii. Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon!
Below is the news article that was posted on Nintendo's Australia website.
"December 17th, 2008 - Animal Crossing: Let’s go to the City (Wii)
Updated Information Further to the initial announcement below regarding the issue with the ability to transfer data between Animal Crossing: Let’s go to the City (Wii) and Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo DS), Nintendo Australia asks that any consumers who are experiencing this issue, please contact Nintendo Australia Consumer Support 1300 362 746.
We are not aware of any other issue with Animal Crossing: Let’s go to the City, other than the ability to transfer data between Animal Crossing: Let’s go to the City (Wii) and Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo DS).
Nintendo Australia apologises to our valued customers for any inconvenience this has caused."
